HIV/AIDS workshop in Sri KL

It's been a while since i didnt some social work.. better yet any at all... I use to do lots of social working for HIV/AIDS.. like ever since...ummm.. 6 years ago, was too involved with the 1st project and i didnt take much pictures on that cos i was BUSY.... so... Sri KL, Subang sent an invitation to the Malaysian Aids Council and requested for a facilitator to educate some year 3 high school children about HIV/AIDS... and my friend TIM took up the challenge.. because he is a certified trainer and of course... me... just pretending to be important la.. kekekkek...

This private school is pretty impressive ... every classroom's got 2 units of air con.. Nabeh!!!... in high school.. we had to fight to sit under the fan ok... and they have 4 canteens in the school 1 for the teachers, high school, primary school and pre-school... a swimming pool, tennis court, a acoustic hall(fully air conditioned), windows fully tinted to avoid heat and all that jazz la.... and i was wondering why did we all had to suffer..... shucks*... rich kids....

Usual... we waited for 45 minutes for all the fashionably later divas and young men to come in.... of course.. they are some who are very keen ... and the others who are just ... being problematic/cool/not in the crowd cos it's stupid/refuse to listen and all that la... and we have a few teachers at the back of the class listening to us and monitoring the kids... INCASE they are uncontrollable or run amok.

So... we had a short ice breaker.... and then of course introduction of HIV/AIDS and all that... this is when they are told to actually draw a human figure and indicate what they feel is important..... so they came up with some funny stuff ... for the guys.. i noted that they indicated '8 packs'... on the body .. and when i asked the reason... they said to protect girls? ?? WTF???? and they even tagged that their hands were important.. and again .. i asked why.. and they said to hold girl's hand?????? WTFFx2??!!!!! and they indicated the penis.... and.. they answered 'to celebrate father's day'..... ¬.¬ ............

So here are the few pictures taken cos i was facilitating and pretending to help out.. so i couldn't take so much shots... The kids were pretty hard to handle cos i was supposedly manning the difficult ones.... but they ended up quite ok.. :)

Well so that was a wrap... i hoped the kids really learnt something as it means so much to us to be trying to reach out and help spread the word... I am glad i did this as i felt it could have helped so many more.... the kids all gathered later around me to ask of ... errmmm.. more intimate questions... was pretty difficult when they asked 'what's oral/oral sex?'.... mahai...... *sweat*...

Well for more information on HIV/AIDS please go here and if you like, you can sign up as a volunteer for the Malaysian Aids Council or donate. It will really make a difference.

On a short note.... Peter is bald dy... Yay....
